Head towards the ridge that leads to the north side of Grand&#8217;Hoche and traverse horizontally until the start of the climb.<\/p><p><strong>GOULOTTE<\/strong><\/p><ul><li><p><strong>L1<\/strong> \u2013 70 m \u2013 3 \u2013 Length on ice, often thin. It can be avoided by bypassing it on the right.<\/p><\/li><li><p><strong>L2<\/strong> \u2013 70 m \u2013 45\u00b0 \u2013 Snow slope.<\/p><\/li><li><p><strong>L3<\/strong> \u2013 55 m \u2013 3 \u2013 Length on ice, belay on ice screws.<\/p><\/li><li><p><strong>L4<\/strong> \u2013 55 m \u2013 3+ \u2013 Nice length on ice, belay on old ice screws and one 8mm bolt, can be protected with medium-sized cams.<\/p><\/li><li><p><strong>L5<\/strong> \u2013 120 m \u2013 45\u00b0 \u2013 Snow slope, passing between two characteristic walls.<\/p><\/li><li><p><strong>L6<\/strong> \u2013 60 m \u2013 M5 expo \u2013 Key pitch, very beautiful length, protections not so obvious in case of little snow and ice, belay at the exit, on cams.<\/p><\/li><li><p><strong>L7<\/strong> \u2013 300 m \u2013 45\/50\u00b0 \u2013 Snow slope with some easy steps.<\/p><\/li><li><p><strong>L8<\/strong> \u2013 200 m \u2013 45\u00b0 \u2013 Snow slope, cornice passage, and exit just below the summit.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>DESCENT:<\/strong> From the summit, descend to Passo dell&#8217;Orso. From there, follow the summer trail back to the hut. Alternatively, it is possible to descend the channel of the pass and find a belay for rappelling down to overcome the final step.<\/p><p><strong>NOTES:<\/strong> Beautiful alpine climb in a wild setting, not to be underestimated due to the overall commitment. Should be tackled with the proper snow conditions and taking into account the presence of the summit cornice, which can sometimes be quite L5 \u2013 120 m \u2013 45\u00b0 \u2013 Snow slope, passing between two characteristic walls. Alternatively, it is possible to descend the channel of the pass and find a belay for rappelling down to overcome the final step. NOTES: Beautiful alpine climb in a wild setting, not to be underestimated due to the overall commitment.
